This little gem came via the Hella newsletter.
307CC (only) from 2004 - Rear light out ?
No error code is recorded. Fuses, cables and connectors also do not exhibit any fault. In this case the problem is caused by the way in which the lamp failure monitor operates.
The left and right licence-plate lights are each associated with the corresponding rear light. If the comfort control device detects a faulty licence-plate light it switches off all the lighting functions for the corresponding rear light.
- So a plate light goes out and in the dark you look like a motorcycle because it kills your rear light too. Not to mention the diagnostic head scratching because you can't tell the plate bulb is out because all the lights are!

I was going to read the Hella letter this evening, as I noted it mentioned Peugeot electrics - always an "interesting area of concern" in my books......
I am going through a whole raft of Peugeots (dead ones) at the moment, but none have materialized on the doorstep yet - possibly a result of the issues with transportation of them around the Isle just now. All are just "threatening" to land in my workshop, and none runs, apparently......3 of the damn things, so-far.

Ha! I know everyone is a bit down on French cars, and some of the build quality is a bit suspect, personally we've had 3 and no issues. The Picasso we had for example was scrapped as the (original) clutch went - at 203K - and I had only just replaced the original battery... at 17 years.
I like non starters as there is no doubt as to what the symptoms are and the post fix fire up is really satisfying
The Hella webinar "Electronics of the future" was a bit pants TBH, marketing done in the style of Playschool.

Nissan Primeras would only do about 15mph if the rear brake light bulbs went out, never really found out why they opted for this strategy, but I've seen some Outrageous bills trying to repair the lack of power 🤣
