You might now be feeling a different problem - now that you have tuned into any sort of driveability issues.
Occasional stumbling during acceleration is more likely a calibration problem from the Ford factory - airpath related on poor EGR control. Sometimes this can be exacerbated by a Mass Airflow Meter over-reading, thus creating the conditions for the engine to over-control EGR to bring the airflow down whilst the vehicle is driving in the emissions domain (speed/load-related)
If it worries you, you could try cleaning the EGR valve and induction circuit of any oil/carbon, to obviate any delays in control on/off EGR.
If it really worries you, don't drive a modern diesel after 2004 !! Especially anything with a Ford calibration....

Its my sons car and he was worried about it breaking down. I have used car for a week and it just misses a few times when accelerating. Its not throwing up any fault codes yet.
Hes picking it up tomorrow and has to drive 60 miles to his girlfriends so I hope it doesnt breakdown.
thanks for all the information. Im sure the Injectors are ok and wonder if the 2 that were changed really were faulty. There was never a engine light coming on and he just accepted the mechanics verdict and it cost him nearly the value of the car.

Yes cylinder no1 is flywheel end
To add more confusion
Later models returned to “ standard “
Cylinder ordering

It wouldn’t be un reasonable to expect the remaining injectors nearing the end of their life .
But likes been said
I think you’ll need to swap the injectors
May require all 4
But often that’s not what the owner wants to hear .
As it’s a hefty bill

Update on the Issue.
Son tried to drive back down to Devon and got 80 miles until the car cut out completely. he called the breakdown service and they took the car home on a low-loader.
I started the car and it ran on 3 cylinders with the display flashing Engine Malfunction. I connected ForScan and it says P1202 Inj 2 circuit open/shorted.
So it definately looks like the injector or wiring.
I removed all the Bolts to remove the inlet manifold and it wont come off. I removed the 8 main bolts plus the 2 at the back plus the 0ne under the fuel filter deep down. Also removed bolts holding the Cam Cover on. Cannot find any other bolts holding it.
Have I missed something or you just have to use brute force to lift it off. Any Help would be useful.
thanks
Alex

A. How much where the injectors Where they new or reconditioned ? B. has the fuel filter been replaced either recently or with the repair sorry for delay, didnt rec notification.. According to receipt they were ford Injectors fitted to cylinder 1&4, he was charged £900 for injectors and other consumables inc fitting. They also replaced the fuel filter whilst doing the injectors.

Don’t see why you can’t check between pins & each pin to the body with dvom on k ohm settings.
M9r vivaro / trafics (2.0) piezo injectors should be between 160-200k ohms between the pins, settling fairly quickly normally to about 180k, I assume you’ve got Siemens/ vdo / continental ones fitted which seem to be more troublesome than their Bosch equivalents on most other marques using that engine
