I must be the only person in my street who still washes their own cars down.
Never see anybody else doing it on a Sunday morning (but they all have clean cars).
I do the outside and wifey does the inside.
This lockdown thing is making it hard work thou - as normally I pay a grandchild to assist me.
---------------------
On the subject of car washing - treat yourself to some "Carplan Demon Shine" - pink stuff in a can - just put it in some clean cold water and rinse it over the motor. Really solves the water mark problem on a dark car. Its real good stuff - got a car wash kit for Xmas off one of kids with some in it (small 250ml bottle). I have now invested in 5ltrs of it from the local motorfactors. Water runs off the car like it has been polished. I assume it is silicon - and will be good for all the black plastic on cars?

What's it like on the glass? That seems the biggest problem with some of these cold-water additives - they are too good at putting a nice shine on the windscreen....

I do know what you mean thou, I can't ever get Rain-ex to not to smear everywhere - on glass in the wet using the wipers.

If you want to wash a car and let it dry without marks then you can use what window cleaners use when operating with the really long poles. Search eBay for "DI Vessel" and "DI Resin". The latter goes into the former. The hose water goes through it and the resin removes the scale and whatnot that causes the marks. You can even use it with a jetwash.
Great in the summer for cleaning customer cars as you can rinse them off and leave them to dry in the sun.
