Hi forum, I am looking to build a web app (PC/Laptop and Mobile) to help small businesses ‘go digital’ with productivity and efficiency in mind. Features I’m looking to achieve, but not limited to are: - Customer Management
- Vehicle Management
- Parts/Inventory Support
- Pricing and Quote Management
My question would be, is there any appetite out there for it? If anyone would like to get involved to perhaps test a prototype and work to share ideas to help build a useful tool then please email me with any details of how you think this would benefit you and what particular features you would find useful. All the best, Chris beame.industries@gmail.com The market is already saturated with good garage business management software People like "garage hive" are all over it Aim for the mobile techs and diagnosticians and include easy payment facilities like Klarna and incorporate tech data packages like Alldata/HGS/Haynes pro etc. A lot of these systems include repair times for quotes already An all in one package might work!!!

Tech data is where the money is at - AD "Autodata" - the market leaders are gonna stuggle with "Brexit". IME labour times add "nothing to the party". Invoicing is going to be covered by "quickbooks/zero" and the like with MTD coming (accountants are gonna be redundant). Stock is the enemy for the motortrade - nobody wants it - needs to be stocking anything! They really dont't. If you are into tech that much - MTD is where is at - every self employed person needs software to do tax returns by software by April 2023 - it is the law for every "butcher baker and candle stick maker". The motortrade is hard to sell anything to... (like hitting your head against a wall). Your intended customer base (the motortrade) are into "make to and mend". They do it with everything from cars to tools. Shiny software packages are not a priority. The margins are too low for this type of thing. The big trade have there own IT depts so do this themselves - the small trade don't have the money or will to fund it.

If I have typed it once, I must have typed it a 100-times : The one application that will sell to the Motor Trade is a decent wiring & electrical resource. Something like Mitchell Online, but for EU and Asian products sold within Europe. There is nothing out there that does this at the moment, and with BEV's and HEV's now becoming increasingly popular, a centralised information resource for ALL electrical diagrams in a common/digestible format, that is accurate and comprehensive, will sell itself. Just diagrams, not "diagnostic suggestions" or "helping hands at your shoulder" or "leading-diagnostics trees" or anything else that just gets in the way of just reading a diagram and using your brain.
If someone doesn't do this soon, I might just have a go myself....

Alldata (Europe) have just done a big revamp to make the user interface a lot better apparently Might be worth a free trial?? www.alldataeurope.com/Ask Vahalla about Alldata...? I think he has tried it? (not sure of this thou?) Yes, I'm presently signed-up with ALLDATA. I looked at the new interface, but unsure of what actually changed..... I think it was a VW diagram, and you know how unique they are....
