sorry Mr B that was my attempt at humour.... and I should make clear that I was not recommending the procedure, just telling you about it. (I did mention it was in the days of the Kent engine)

I learnt the hard way back in the Day of my 100,000 mile MK2 Escort not to put anything other than oil into the engine after reading the back of a bottle of redex claiming to restore power and clean the inside of your engine if you poured a certain amount into each cylinder........the engine didnt do many more miles after that, it lost most of its compression into the crankcase and started blowing the dipstick up the tube.....and took an age to start.
