I did a bit of a Blog last year about that trick Astra front suspension strut. It was designed by Lotus quite a while ago for GM, but the design wasn't taken up. Eventually, they stumbled across it again and bolted it to this Astra. Its a really neat piece of design and engineering.

Is it similar to the revo knuckle as found on the focus rs Think Renault use this kind of set up on there hot models too |
