Well I have gone and done it, as most of you know I have been mad on Vauxhalls for years, having a new astra, 1999 corsa B and a 1988 nova, but I just couldn't get the S type jag out of my head I've asked on here before and every one said stick with the Vauxhalls but I've took the plunge, in the old days I ran xj6s and loved them, anyway today I traded my corsa B against a 2002 2.5 s type manual se (didn't want a auto) still be keeping the astra as a every day car, so the jag is just a hobby thing at nearly 79 I've to down size the fleet so if anyone is interested I have for sale a 1988 Nova L 1.3 5 door hatch in silver 55k yes that's right 55,000 mile bought it off a old man who had it for 25 years and he had it into main agent every year for service and mot, so when I say its immaculate condition it really is, I have the the original bill of sale when the old man bought it new and the first log book and s/h, anyone interested contact me by e mail or 01142872115.
Thanks Vaux
probably have to change my name now

Collected the S Type Friday and had a great drive home, its now in my garage on stands and started taking the under engine covers off they go right to rear of the car, caught it just in time before the inner sills get too rusty, surprising what these covers hide, so plenty of waxoil before the covers go back, then a full service, I'll see if I can put some photos on then.

sorry no photos yet, put the under covers back on today been waiting for new fasteners, painted the inner sills and then waxoiled all what the covers hide, next job is cleaning all the rear suspension and then more waxoil, then removing all the wheels and cleaning & smartening then a brake service, diff & manual gearbox oil change and finish with a full engine service, so it will be a while yet before its on the road, no rush its a hobby car .
Still have the 1988 immaculate Nova for sale if any one it interested

How much do you think the nova is worth by the way Vaux ?
My first 2 cars where a mk2 Astra 1.3 and a mk2 cavalier
A friend had a nova SR . Cheque sports seats and alloy wheels thought it was the business at the time

I think the Nova is worth £1500 of any ones money in its condition with the spares, but I will take £1000 and some one will get a great bargain ready to show

I got told today to increase my Cossie Insurance valuation.

The Nova went through the mot today with no problems, not bad for a 29 year old car

The Nova went through the mot today with no problems, not bad for a 29 year old car Not bad at all. Sort of shows-up some of the more modern heaps that shuffle their way in and out these days. Just goes to show what a bit of care, maintenance, and preparation can do!
