Pete, let me know if you want me to order you a stand pass. Won't be booking for a few months. Never stood Stu how much are they and what to do. Is the pass for me only and the car or can I bring a friend along. Do you show your Escort. Give me a shout nearer the time when your booking.

The stand pass gets your car into the show area so you can show it, yeah I show mine, never gonna win anything but its a lot better than some I see.
The passes are free, you just pay for each admission ticket, either on the day or cheaper if pre booked.
I will remind you nearer the time.

I'm convinced that when Ford decided to make the Focus, they also decided to build it better than anything they'd done before.
My 2005 1.6 Zetec has had a fair bit of neglect before I had it, and is at 115k, but I've simply never driven a car that gives so much confidence when pushing on and which is so easy to work on.
The problems I've had haven't been too bad, and either caused by previous owner/previous garage bodging, such as the set of tyres worn out due to someone not checking the tracking after doing a set of wishbones and TREs, or by the usual issues one can expect from a 10 year old car (speedo sensor failure, thermostat housing and pipe, worn clutch).
The current fault list is pretty short. The exhaust is still blowing at the back, but is quiet enough for now. The clutch really could do with changing, but it doesn't slip and drives fine and the cracked windscreen is hopefully being repaired tomorrow.

Loobys Clio, still going well..Now on 73thou..20thou in two years..Not long changed the rear wheel cylinders, a lower balljoint and a front abs reluctor ring..Bits are dirt cheap for it.
Saxo, Not needed anything recently, on 114 thou..Had it up for sale for two months, no enquiries!
E30 touring, on 99thou, is sleeping for the winter..Bought a service kit and a thermostat for it a while back, which I'll fit before she goes back on the road in March. Will also need a battery cos it's died.
Combo, now on 236thou..Stripped out the back and pressure washed it...Needs a balljoint(soon) and one front shock is a tad weak..Only had it two months...I serviced it and checked the cambelt when I bought it, don't want to spend any money on it yet..

The focus got a new windscreen today courtesy of Autoglass. looks to be OK and hasn't let any water in (yet). Heater elements also seem to be working ok too, but its not been cold enough to try it out properly yet.

We had a disaster in the family fleet on Wednesday morning.
I think Wednesday was a very wet day where you guys are in Britain, that rain passed through here during the night and was torrential around 5am. My son-in-law set off for work in his Honda Accord 2.2 diesel and ran into a flood. The engine took in water and wrecked itself. He has sourced a second-hand engine in Northern Ireland and hopes to get the car back on the road in about a week.

oops, that'll be a wallet bender :/ Yeah, for him! In the meantime there has been a reshuffle of cars and drivers so my old Nissan is back in the front line. My daughter has it now and it's doing school runs, shopping trips, hairdressing appointments, coffee mornings, visits to friends etc.

The Mondeo ST handbrake has gone a bit floppy before it will bite on the ratchet. Comes up further than it should before it holds.

Are the levers operating properly on the calipers?

Cables would often seize , caliper pawl then seize also
Finally there where a batch of parking brake levers which had auto adjustment mechanism go faulty and the fix was replace with a manual lever
* Cables are/where the most common issue

Are the levers operating properly on the calipers? Don't know not had a look due to it p*ssing down most of the afternoon and evening. It was ok when I drove to the Pool in the morning noticed it when I was coming out of the multi storey on my return journey.
