Ford Mondeo 2008 2.0 TDCi filter priming.
Anybody got any bright ideas how to get the fuel up to the pump?
Filter is under back axle.
We had to resort to taking the core out of the Schrader valve in the pipe to HP pump and using an electric (facet) type fuel pump to pull it up.
Problem was everytime we tried to get the valve back in, the fuel "air locked"
Nasty job, how do the Ford dealers do it?

when I've done them in the past I've undone the fuel return under the bonnet and sucked the fuel through using a mitivac pump, takes a bit to do it mind.

even tho this is a pug engine the first one i did really caught meout big time. the return in tank also feeds the line out!!!! i used a fuel pump primer from an old xantia to pull fuel up thru filter, the trick is that once youve pulled enough fuel thru you then reconnect the system back together,if you dont then becos the return feeds the feed itll air lock!!!!rom the tank!! its a stupid system, and ive never struggled like this with a psa car!!!!

At least with Facet pump method, I can do it on my own, well JUST

You can also remove the filter housing from the car and then fill up the filter if you like
I don't bother
And just pull the juice though on vacuum

I use vacuum method as Karl mentioned, using a vacuum fluid recovery pump designed for draining sumps through the dipstick...
Also excellent for Mis fuelled cars!
£45 ish on ebay..
