No but in reality would you even know ?
The light commercial market is largely fleet based anyway , so finding a van not ex lease etc will limit the search

Been a long while since I have seen a decent secondhand van in our workshop. They all get treated badly!
I think the best vans at the moment are VW LT's. Far better than sprinters and transits.
I am not a VW fan as a rule!

Knowing how I treat hire vans, then no.

If it was off one of the bigger hire companies id be quite happy but the smaller companies tend to only sell them when they are ready for going bang.

Most tradesmen go to a dealer and buy a van without too much thought of its past, as already mentioned, almost all vans come with a shared past. So long as they are clean and shiny few buyers draw a distinction between daily hire and sole driver. I believe there is a huge difference between the two, and thats not to say all or any sole driver vans are gems.
If a tradesman has a preference it will usually be for a van privately owned from new. Even more difficult to source than a decent car. I know somone who paid mega money for a private from new split mint 52 Connect. Worth every last penny. Like brand new and never abused. Far better value than a new van and I'm sure just as good. I see the van regularly and can report alls well.
Know other fellas who paid huge money for time warp vans, absolutely huge money, but great value, seems crackers at the time but buyers knew better.
The fleet stuff can be rat rough, the daily hire stuff is usually abused daily from new, the real quality distinction is private from new. Then comes mission impossible, try finding one and being comfortable with the price, probably why people tend to just buy the usual vehicles from the usual sources.
Daily hire, personally I wouldn't go that route, car or van, not for a keeper. Buying any vehicle can be like walking through a mine field, good luck with it.

I would have thought miss fuelling would be more likely with a daily hire van?
If its a lucrative contract for you now, what happens if the van deal turns sour before or after sale?
Personally I'd go to a fleet van sale and get my hand up
