10:20pm to 12:20am Documentary about the life and career of Brazilian Formula One champion Ayrton Senna. I'll certainly be watching it.

I'm barely interested in F1 but that came on while I was sat in front of the telly and it flew by, must have enjoyed it.
Edit: just as a gauge of how uninteresting I find F1, I found out yesterday that somone called Sebastian Vettel has been champion four times.

I really enjoyed the programme last night and still get a lump in my throat when I see the accident which ended IMO the greatest racing driver I have ever seen. As for todays F1 racing I am starting to loose interest of late as it's becoming boring and the drivers don't have the b*lls to speak their minds except one.

Yesterdays British Touring Car Championship finale made a mockery of F1. Non stop action and exitement compared to the multibillion pound borefest that is alledgedly the pinacle of motorsport, the Japanese GP was as predictably boring as the results of the final 4 GP's will be.
Anybody seen Rush yet? Brilliant film!

I've seen Rush, Lauda is very good in it Hunt and the racing scenes are a bit too Hollywood for me though. Lauda reengineers Reaggazonis BRM overnight and makes it 2 seconds a lap quicker On Nikis comeback race he's losing places fast until his instinct takes over and he avoids a big crash, he gets his "mojo" back and is suddenly back to normal Good film all the same, particularly Nikis dark humour which is believable. If you don't enjoy modern F1 your watching it wrong. Grosjean did an amazing job all weekend long, his best race so far. You have to remember these cars are way in front of touring cars etc, it takes a different level of skill and engineering ability to even drive one to a competitive level. Did you notice Kimis overtake whilst he was adjusting the brake balance at 200mph??

I thought it was rivetting this weeks race, absolutely fantastic, thrilling for what seemed like hours, then all of a sudden i'd realised that during some redecorating of the living room I had actually moved the telly and had been staring at the newly painted wall drying. Christ it's monotonus, must try and find that exciting bit where a driver fiddled with a tiny knob somewhere middrace, takes real skill that to twiddle with a tiny knob whilst driving, just ask Jerry. Not a patch on touring car racing at all. F1 is going the way rally driving did a few years back and theyre still trying to make that exciting again.

First Grand Prix I ever went to was in 1988 when I went to Silverstone and watched Senna run away with it in rain. I have some photo's I took then and I'll see if I can dig em out and post them up for you Nobby (oh and I'm a Prost fan by the way!). I've been back to Silverstone again (1990), Barcelona (2002) and Hockenheim last year. A Ferrari has won all three of those! Sadly it's gotten too expensive to go regularly though but I hope to do a race once every few years. Pound for pound though, I think the BTCC trumps F1 hands down for excitement. Much more affordable, far more accessible, drivers will actually talk to the fans, and real proper racing. I've been to Silverstone, Donnington, Croft, Knockhill and Mondello here in Ireland. Highlights were meeting John Cleland in 1999 and again in 2002 meeting Yvan Muller. I had a 10 minute chat with him and Derek Warwick! I'll try fit in Rush when I can, but my good wife can't stand motor racing so I'll be going on my own..

BTCC is like watching bumper cars. V8 Supercars from Oz is loads better Maybe I'm spoilt but watching the RS500 vs the M3 support races at the British GP was the best era Followed by super touring in the mid 90s F1 isn't for everyone I love it for the classic tracks and the cheating

My mrs can't stand F1 but loved the film! it's very much about the characters rivalry and relationship, the racing takes second place.

What I would like to see (it's never going to happen) is say a certain amount of teams say 10-12 with 2 drivers in each team compete over 20-24 different circuits and all the drivers get to drive each car twice. That way you would have the best driver as the World Champion on overall ability and the Manufactures title would go to the team that has the best car overall. Come on Bernie how about it before you retire.

Lauda is a truly exceptional and funny person, and it captures that.

Id like to see current F1 drivers race in safe versions of 50/60/70/80s F1 cars at the classic tracks over a season and then throw in a few modern tracks and cars. Just to see who is the ultimate driver. It would be mega expensive but Im pretty sure Kimi or Lewis or Alonso or Vettel would win, maybe Button in the 60s cars. Who knows ?

Roland Ratzenberger died the day before Senna at the same track,Sid Watkins told Senna not to race and they would go fishing because Senna had a bad feeling about the race................if only he had gone fishing. F1 is like anything else, you either like it or you dont,I hear people getting all worked up over twenty two overpaid prima donna's kicking a bag of wind about and I just can't understand why they get so worked up about it all.
