Yup, I feel for her….I thought I had it bad but there’s always someone worse ….
I started with it when I was around 29, now I’m going on 66 next, not been the best days off my life, but I feel I’ve done as much as I can providing for my wife and kids….
Medical facilities and provision seem to vary… had great service and support from my GP and Specialist when we lived near Hull, but up North here it’s a bit of a lottery…
Still life goes on….

I managed to get another bit of the fencing done this afternoon; the lower strainer wire is complete and tensioned, and I've managed to do the wiring of the fence down to it for about half the distance.
Unfortunately, I have to take the gloves off to do the wiring - basically I need the dexterity to handle the lock-wire and the twister-tool. Having done about 120 wires last thing today, my poor fingers are shredded, they really do get split and dry with this sort of work. So no diesel oil-changes for a few days!

Drove my first EV, Ioniq 5, 20 inch wheels (why?), seemed to like to tramline on white lines and certain road surfaces. HUD is good

Yesterday was a loong day out watching the BTCC at Donington Park.
Being the keen chap that I am, I arrived super early, ready for a day's racing, by 8am. Of course, the problem was the weather was so utterly foul that nothing could get out on track until midday! Still, twas a pleasant day out and the racing was as close and exciting as ever.
The only real fly in the ointment was that on the way home the V40 decided to start throwing ABS, traction control and tyre pressure warnings. I imagine its an ABS sensor, and being the wonderful* wheel bearing sensor types its probably going to involve a bit of work to sort it out

Started a new job as a VW diag tech, only two years of training / assessment courses to get the 'big money' job title of master tech back.... Still, it's a better place to work than the Merc. dealership I was at which was becoming toxic since the general manager & the aftersales manager were disposed of along with the sales reptiles

We know a story about abs wheel sensors and such don’t we boys n girls…. I’ll let the proper mechanics give the appropriate advice on this… Hope you get it sorted without too much expense…. The Tiguan abs sensor was £41 and the replacement hub bearing assembly was £166 from Eurocarparts, but luckily the abs sensor wasn’t needed as the orig was ok.

Well, I dodged the rain showers, luckily it was only 500 metres away and the road had been recently resurfaced - I roped the apprentice in to giving me a push with the big one, it wasn't very nice hearing everything jiggling around inside though!

Shopping trolley style... No van - no trailer - no drawers out!

The only real fly in the ointment was that on the way home the V40 decided to start throwing ABS, traction control and tyre pressure warnings. I imagine its an ABS sensor, and being the wonderful* wheel bearing sensor types its probably going to involve a bit of work to sort it out Quick update on this: I managed to get hold of my mate who's got a basic Autel maxicheck and managed to read the codes that had been stored. Turns out it was a right rear ABS sensor fault but it only seemed to happen after a fairly long (30 miles plus) drive. For example I could drive 25 miles to Tescos with no warnings, but once I got about 3/4 the way back up it popped. My local factors had a Febi sensor in for £26 (got to love those Ford platform parts prices!) so I fitted that last night. The sensor is fitted to the rear of the wheel bearing but access is good and the securing screw looked to be stainless (no sign of rust despite being a 2016 car). It was tight but luckily my "bit" screwdriver has a 1/4" hex on the shank so you can use a spanner for some extra persuasion. The only annoyance is the "new" part was in an unsealed box and seemed "shop soiled". It didn't look like it had been fitted however, and given time constraints I stuck it on. I'll go for a long drive tonight and see if its now playing ball once more!
