I was admitted to hospital with a chest infection (which the medics thought was covid) then they came and told me I had pneumonia on both lungs, I laid back looked up at the sky and said Lynda open up those pearly gates we are going to be together again, I was really ready to go, but the big man had other plans, I was discharged and sent home last Sunday, my daughter has lived with me for a week and I am recovering nicely but still so weak and no energy and that makes the days so long just sat here I have always been active and doing things, still I suppose at 84 and its been the first time in hospital I've been lucky, just can't wait to get back on my Rovers.
Happy new year to all members

Take care Roverman. To cold atm for tinkering on motors. Freezing here last night with a touch of fog. Not much above freezing now as I type this. Get yourself right for when the warmer weather arrives.

Sorry to hear you've been unwell chief. I'm sure it wasn't fun having a respiratory illness with all this worry about covid flying about.
Also, remember you're always free to start a chat here if you need a talk/vent/rant/shoot the breeze. There's not a lot of us, but we're pleasant folks

Bless... Pleased me to hear your daughter "is stepping up to the mark". Keep away from everybody - you do not want covid on top of pneumonia. Be careful and stay safe.

All the best to you, and hope you feel better soon. Glad that you made it back out of hospital through the front doors, and not the rear exit. Hospital is not a good place to be these days, and definitely worth avoiding unless you feel fit and well-enough to fend-off the fug of lurgy that propogates within!
Probably best to stay clear of the old cars for a week or so, as I have found that I can easily exacerbate chest infections, etc. etc. by just going out into the workshop or garages; the dust is ever-present, and as soon as you open the doors, you are breathing it in.....
Did the medics offer any opinions as to what has caused this? I worry that my activities over each Christmas on the P2 '10 restoration are not doing me any good either!

No medics didn't say how I picket up the infection they were convinced it was covid but test proved other wise, I was away for xmas and did a lot off walking picked up a cold and it transpired from that I think, anyway the sun is shiny today and I am feeling a bit better so gave the cars a good warm up the 75s started first turn of the key but the P4 needed a bit of coaxing but she came through in the end and they all sounded great after there long lay up can't wait to get back to normal classic car shows at the NEC auto jumble at Newark and taking the P4 to the local car shows. Roll on summer

Take care Roverman, the grim reaper doesn’t take prisoners…,,, In the ‘chip’ household, me and the missus both have had ‘something’ the usual Covid tests at home were neg as was a PCR test at the local centre….bad cough, sore throat, no appetite….etc….so a crap beginning since Xmas…. Then to top it all, the father in law was transferred to hospital from his care home after testing +ve……has been on oxygen for best part of a fortnight, but seems to be picking up now ( he’s in his 80’s ).., Just goes to show how mortal we are…. Things can only get better yeah?
