Hi Just up dated my fleet, bought a 1965 Wolseley 1500 none runner, had it running after a few hours tinkering, been messed about by idiots, no power to coil = fuse missing power wire to points broken = replaced checked for a spark and it started up although its tax & mot exempt it as 8 month left on a mot & a hpi cert, new tyres all round and a lot of money been spent on it so not a bad buy, these are getting quite rare now, some thing to play with when the weather gets warmer then I will up load some photo's, I've got to stop looking on E Bay no more room for any more

Sounds like you've snapped up a bargain there!
Regarding my fleet, the Focus is being a good ole machine with few issues. The only recent problem was the front tracking needed sorting, and due to restrictions I was stuck using the local tyre fitters. Having had to persuade them that the tracking actually needed doing (it was miles out) the car is much happier now that the wheels point the right way.
The restoration of the Grey Fergie Diesel continues. The head is away being machined, and the recondtioners have recommended replacing all the valve seats (some we knew were pitted, others had apparently cracked). Once we get that back we can carry on re-assembling the engine and getting it bolted back up to the gearbox and back end, and start on the running gear.

Don't be too trusting when it comes to buying cars. Not everybody is a bad person - but it only takes getting bitten once for it to hurt!

Caveat emptor.I have only done it once - brought a vehicle blind from an "online car auction". The description read "runs and drives" - actually it should have read "needs clutch". Did not hurt me too much - as I fitted the clutch/flywheel myself. But to a retail customer £1000 for a clutch on a £5k motor is 20% of the purchase price. Yes... Caveat Emptor (Buyer beware? - I think - I am only a dumb fat mechanic - we did not do latin at our school)

Roverman A car similar to your recent purchase sold in ACA Auction. I went their with Joepublic about 3-4 years ago now. IIRC we picked up one of his new fleet on the way home.

Similar to the phrase "sold as is or seen" this term means that the buyer assumes the risk that a product may fail to meet expectations or have defects.

5 Years in March...... Time flys? Five years really. Time waits for no man as they say. When the Country (which could well be next year) returns to some sort of normality perhaps we can then arrange to go to Mathewsons Auction.

Hi noberator What a small world, the car you so at the Anglia Car Auctions and sold for £5940 is the same car I have just bought for £2500 did I get a bargain. although it is mot exempt still as 6 month left on a mot, 5 new tyres complete new exhaust new front calipers & pads new brake flex hose's all round & copper brake pipes new shockers all round new battery some one certainly spent some money on this car. (any one want it £3000 )
