I Am non of the above things so not entitled to use it Digger I have done some checking on the legality of you checking the MID under section 55 of the Data Protection Act 1998. It appears you would not be commiting a criminal offence under this section if you could prove where such obtaining or disclosure was necessary for crime prevention/detection. Which IMO it is. Section 55(2) sets out four defences to section 55(1) Read 55 section 2 (a) (i) You can read the lot if you want.

Due to work and other commitments I can't do anything with the TT shell for 2 weeks now anyway. I need to phone the recycling place on the morning before I strip it of the last of its running gear, they usually collect 3-4PM the same day week days only meaning we can park on the drive again the same night

On street parking.
People do play up about it.
Where I live, there is a family of Roofing contractors. Wife with a Nissan, Father and two sons which all have transit/sprinter flat beds with ladders on them.
They really only have room to park the Nissan and one of the trucks up the drive and one truck in front of there house.
So they have three trucks and one car, but only space to park three of the four vehicles they have.
Everybody in the street has played up about it. Continued reporting them to the Police.
My input was... While both of the lads are getting up and going to work (not taking drugs and burgling the neighbours). I told one of them they can park out the front of mine. This means I have to open my gates and park one of my vehicles down my drive. Not a huge problem, but I do get wet sometimes doing it, the gates have to be shut due to freerange dog and grandchildren.
What will happen in time, one of the lads will earn enough money to buy a house and leave home, then the problem will be solved.
Plus the other week when I came home from work, my missus had both of the young lads up ladders cleaning out a blocked overflowing gutter.
When challenged "how much do I owe you boys". The stereo reply from the lads was "if our dad thought we had taken a penny off you for this, we would both be getting a good hiding". So I gave them some cans of beer instead.
Truthfully thou, the roofers truck parked outside ours, does sort of slightly irritate my wife. But she is "aboard" with the work ethic thing. What I can't understand is. I am parking a downplated canter spec lift truck in the drive and that's OK.
People are funny about parking (even my wife).

We live in a narrow Victorian street, people generally park on one side opposite to us. The main road is similar and choked with cars of an evening / weekend so some use our cul de sac to park in. We had one bloke with an S2000 that parked up in October each year until April the following year for 3 winters, the car never moved or was even run up to temperature. The same couple also parked their dailies here too (rough Prious and rusty C class) because they wouldn't pay for residents parking for the street they lived in.
We have a young guy with a stretch black limo that parks here for weeks at a time, he lives on the main road and the MX5 still hasn't moved.
I have no problem if you park overnight for a day or two, but I do have issues if the car becomes an abandoned landmark, builders merchants, deliveries have to double park, bin men traipse extra distance to the lorry leaving your empty bin a distance away, the pavements are narrow too so pedestrians then walk in the road.

There's obviously a problem with cars being parked and general traffic management..... Is this something your local council/councillor should be addressing? If you have little children in/around the streets, isnt this an accident waiting to happen?

If you have little children in/around the streets, isnt this an accident waiting to happen? Kids don't tend to lay in the streets like we did back in the day do they? Being realistic they've got to park somewhere? If I had to park in a different street because I found myself with nowhere to park I'd watch for a space nearby and move the car when suitable, the streets are empty in the day time except for a minority. I parked my car a few houses down earlier this year after getting home late in the evening and they snapped my rear wiper off.......

Cars/trucks filling up the streets p*ss a lot of people off, but in my book there is a huge difference between someone legally parked for the day, or some twonk dumping there untaxed/uninsured/un mot'd heap stopping you doing what you want to do..

It's been left with left hand lock on the steering, so either way pushing it would block the road. Stretch is back too

People seem to get very possessive about the space on the road outside their house. I saw this when I visited Birmingham last Autumn. Not much you can do if you need to park, only option is to find a space?
Besides, thought for the night....
"What are people going to do, in this sort of scenario where they park on the roads, when everything goes over to electric charging in the next decade?"
I cannot see vehicle owners wanting to run extension leads halfway up the street!

People seem to get very possessive about the space on the road outside their house. Its funny you should say that, my car was parked 6 houses up from where we live at 10PM Sunday, the house owner (mortgagee? and the number one suspect for snapping off my rear wiper) knocked on my door at 5PM Monday asking if I'd move my car (I was due to go to work at 6PM anyway). The couple opposite are having their aging conservatory replaced so both of their cars are parked in the road in the daytime preventing me from moving it to park outside our house so I didn't bother. MX5 still hasn't moved
