The Spanish place an inverted question mark (and indeed, an inverted exclamation mark) at the front of a sentence. I believe this is to signify to the reader / orator, that a change in tone is required to inflect a question or exclamation. HTH, they don't teach us much here in the backwaters...

Well as the saying goes "Your never to old to learn" The trouble is, these days I'm finding I'm getting too old to remember anything I learned previously!!! I went back to some of my old text books a wee whiley back, and scared myself sh**less at the sort of maths I used to do. Then again, my textbooks would probably scare the current generation of kids; I looked at a recent curriculum, and thought to myself, "No wonder they struggle at university these days".
