Ive got to look at 1 of these in detail.
It keeps throwing a code of 0045 which relates to crank sensor i believe.
But after hearing it the engine/chain is rattling, so im guessing its strecthed and needs replacing? Any one ever done 1 ?

Cam and crank sensor codes common on these when chain is stretched, if you remove cam cover you can see the chain tensioner if it's out more than10 mm the chain is due a change.

Some wrong info above sorry, the code was 0335, and also 0011. Relates to crank and cam sensor, but the sound of the chain is leading me to the chain as the problem. Not looking at it properly til fri, but thanks for the info mayfly.
What are they like to change?

P0045 Code is a generic OBD for Turbo/Super Charger Boost Control Solenoid Circuit/Open. P0011 is one fault associated with Incorrect camshaft timing. P0035 on it's own if the check engine light is on is the Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction to the timing chain problem.

I don't about where you are,but over here, there's no way anyone will spend more than £200 on a 2002 plate car. If it were with me,I'd suggest scraping it before the customer says,I'll scrap it!!!!

Im in the midlands only about 15 miles away from the 192mph speeder, and similar from his daughter. I agree on your comments, but theres a lot of older cars on the roads round here, its not a generally well off area. People often have the attitude to spend 300 on a 200 car if its generally ok, because they havent got 1000 or more to spend on a replacement. I give my advice, then do the work if its wanted

You can elongate the cam sensor bracket and then adjust it so the light stays out Bloke I know charges £600 for chain replacement on these.

Have done them in the past, can be done with engine in place ,not difficult but takes a bit of time and patients.
