Don't know about other manufacturers But I have noticed over the years the stated torque figures have all risen for all model classes And there's a wide range of torque figures also It could be difficult for an shop to keep up to date Don't see why they can't print it below the tyre pressure label on a pillar Though doubt the ones who over tighten would bother to look Autodata tyre pressure chart has the settings on, we get them every year. I take all my wheel torque settings from the same chart as you!

... last few times I have been to my local place they don't even have guns ... they do them all by hand... And the fitters even know the meaning of the coloured dots on the tyres and fit them in the right place... "Carlsberg don't do tyre shops, but if we did they would probably be the best tyre shops in the world."

I've been quite surprised that last few times I have been to my local place they don't even have guns out in the tyre bays, they do them all by hand. Very refreshing to see. And the fitters even know the meaning of the coloured dots on the tyres and fit them in the right place unlike most. Overspray?

Volvo state an initial torque then a torque for the standard bolt/nut and a lower torque for the locking bolt/nut.

Had similar today, Audi A4 2005, no locking wheelnut key!
Air chisel did the job on one side..On the other I used the air chisel to fold in the inner and outer collar, then hammered on a 7/8 socket.

You considered getting the dynomec kit? We have got a dynomec kit here! Useless... Fed up with buying high prices cutters for it! Also it only works on a small percentage of locking wheelnuts!

Very time consuming and drill bits aint cheap. A lot off the mc guard type locking nuts appear to be hardened steel.

Drilbit is he'll of a lot cheaper than a rim and I agree it's time consuming but price of a rim buys u about 3 hours of labour if not more
