Hi and welcome Me,personally have never come across this type of sound on a corsa d,but others might have. Let's see what others say. My advice is to take it a garage that's recommended Noises are very hard diagnose over the internet!

Thankyou. A friend has the same car/same engine size. His doesn't do it. Ive never heard anything like this myself. I'm going to post a video on youtube and put the link in here so people can hear it for them selves. Its been there for a few months no drastic effects to performance but by Christ it is annoying.

The description of the noise doesnt mean much, but lets just try to pinpoint it a bit ?
does it only make the noise when the car is moving?
Does it make the noise when in neutral with the car moving ?
is it any worse/louder when car is warm/cold ?
Does it happen when steering?
any other commens you have may help track it down. As fcf said, noises are not easy on here.

So does the noise continue if you dip the clutch,as it occurs? Gearbox oil level ok? Engine oil level ok?

Only makes noise when car is moving Steering is fine. No noise from that. Perfect in neutral. Happens hot and cold. Happens in every gear when revs are from around 500 to 2000rpm then stops above that. Engine oil is fine. Assuming the gearbox oil is too as it was serviced by vauxhall 2 days before buying and only had it for 6 months. Mileage Is 38,000 done 6000 in 6 months. Noise seems to be from back & bottom end of engine.

Its fine when the clutch is in. The noise starts when I'm COMPLETELY OFF the clutch and the car starts moving.

Had similar issue on my first car (corsa b 1200 8 valve) It turned out to be the exhaust mount that was dodgy and when you were moving under power it would slightly tap against something causing a rattle that went away when you let of or increased throtle

I would go along the lines of Air Intake or Coolant Issues, however I obviously don't have the car to examine but just going by what your saying .

Trying to diagnose noises over the web is like trying to fix plumbing blindfolded.

Suggest contacting a local garage to let them hear it and diagnose from there Do these have a gearbox vent? Is that blocked?

Ive just took the air intake hose off and there was a small amount oil in there. Is this a problem. I.e burnt out piston rings or something??? Not sure if this is the cause of the noise.

Only reason I took it off was that is general area the sound is coming from.

Thats not what is causing the noise/symptoms you posted.
you may have more than 1 issue.
get it checked by a local garage.
A diagnosis wont cost a fortune
