Hi everyone I had a bit of a play with this one on Friday The vans not got abs The brake pedal had no travel from what the owner could describe. Easto euro English is quite bad. Originally the problem was the brakes would start binding as they were used, eventually getting so bad that the van wouldn't roll any more. Another garage replaced the vac pump(used)-and seal between master and servo. It had no pedal when it came into me,I bled the brakes all round and they seemed to get better then on the last corner, the pedal went bad again!! I've told the bloke that we will have to start with a new master cylinder and he's agreed,no pattern parts available for this and new ones about £200.00 Anything common on these? Anything to look out for? It's on the ramp for Monday, well get all the wheels off and have a good nosey before replacing anything. Thanks

Could well be a servo fault by the sounds of it

Could you slacken the master cylinder from the servo when it starts binding, should help confirm if its a servo fault?

It's not like some vws with blocked scuttle drains fill the servo with rain water holding the brakes on is it?
