The idle speed dips rather than rises under load. Considering how bad the air filter was when I changed it the throttle body probably needs a good clean.

The idle speed is still playing up when you put the A/C or heated screen on, but I'm thinking that might be a throttle body and idle valve in need of a good clean out. Surely that's the engine speed increasing due to increased load on it? And is normal I'd have thought.... Most Fords I've had exhibit this inc the missus 63 plate Fiesta.....less noticeable on my Passat which is diesel.... I dont think ive found any aftermarket leads that fit yet Genuine plug lead prices has customers on the floor b*gger, wrong quote!!!!!

These ones fitted pretty well in fairness. Slight difference in length as the originals had 4 different length leads, and the new ones had one short, one long and two pretty similar length leads, but they all popped in to place ok.

A modern classic
Find a clean late one And store away in a lock up , will be worth mega bucks in the future
Mk2 focus was a down grade compared to it

This one's OK, and I'm planning to keep it long term (including welding if needed). For what is basically a 1.6 litre shopping/family car the ride and handling are sublime, even at 100k.
