Yeah, thanks for reply. The garage has apparently tried a new egr during the fault diagnosics. Tech2 on these, take it to a good independent garage who know how to use the diagnostic tool as I find it hard to believe that the fault would not show up in live data or leave a code. But what Karl and stilo said is relevant.

Im sorry if you feel this is a cr*p post, all im doing is trying to get some clue as to where the fault could possibly be such as common faults or based off my written symptoms so i could try and get it fixed on the cheap rather then a garage eat the contents of my wallet. the point of these fourums are for the common man to get some free info so to save a few quid rather then go to the garage, idiot... forgive me for the lack of info but, just looking for help not someone being shitty over an online threads lack of info. Thanks anyway Hope the replies have given you a diagnosis and you are busy fixing it now for free , no !! i didnt think so ..

The fault im guessing was induced by the previous work they did. So yes, they didnt charge. Details to follow...

My only insult was suggesting an individual on here was and idiot, after their post suggesting this thread was crap and i needed to provide more info. Well i gave what i had at the time so for that person to right off the thread over that in my book makes them an idiot.
All forums have a keyboard warrior or more but largely people have a head scratch and have a go at suggesting areas to look at.more info ofcourse helps with an online guestamation as to what the fault is but again if i had more info i prob would be able to narrow it down myself.
I certainly appreciate the help when its offered and the issue with that individual was due to them not me. I know that they probably wanted to help but sadily they were unable to. Well it appears the fault has been fixed so when i see the mechanic tomorrow i can fill in the gaps for those who may be interested now or in the future.

Op didn't state originally it's been to a garage But did say in another post they had run a scan, no codes ? They had "cleaned"the map sensor And replaced the EGR valve , but fault remained
