hi everyone, struggling with this atm it came in twice over the year with dpf codes, two dash lights on and in limp mode. the first time i took it to a diagnotic specialist who managed to regen the filter and reset codes. six months later it done it agin,he drives short congested journeys,so i took the dpf off and sent it off to be cleaned. my equipment wont reset these, nor will my mates vag com!!so off it went to the diag guy who uses ad to be reset. all good. my equipment wont give me live data on the dpf pressure either!! the diag guy is on holiday for two weeks,so no going back to him for a while!! two weeks later back to the same. theres a new fault this time as well,a temp sensor showing open circuit,we replaced it,erased fault it went away. its still got the two dpf faults logged which wont clear. the vw parts guy said that the sensor messes up quite a lot and they keep it stock,65 quid so i got one and fitted it. still the same. im thinking its got a software bug,but vw wont tell me. i had the same issue on a honda and he took it to a dealer, they confirmed the dpf had been proffensionally cleaned, and then after checking everything else was ok,they downloaded new software into engine ecu. ive rang two dealers about this, they seem to not want to take on the pheaton for this issue. the first one i told what we had done, they said"we wont take the job on because youve messed about with it" the second i just said two lights are on,on the dash gave me a booking for a month later and suggested again and again that i find a dealer who can do it quicker!! the customer is very good and understanding and will take it to the dealer if he has to,i just dont want waiting that long!!

I've read where VW T5s have 2 different types of sensors for DPFs and often the wrong ones are supplied giving issues, maybe its worth checking the sensor part numbers with the chassis number? This is the type of fault Crasher revels in, you may know him from BBA or Ilexa forums? He still posts on the VWaudi forums so it might be worth a copy and paste there? www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/

Why anyone buys a diesel for this sort of driving is beyond me. Far better off IMO with a petrol.

I'll bet he's a Boss or Executive of some sort. Main Dealer might not want to know?

You could have a look at Ross Tech Wiki Ross tech wikiI'm sure I've read a post by Crasher regarding having to carry out basic setting for the DPF pressure sensors, sorry can't remember which of the VAG cars it was for but he did say they where a nightmare to do, I would try to find out where Crasher is located and just send the customer there but if they guy is doing short journeys he's going to be spending more money on DPF's and regens then he's going to be spending on diesel

the customers ok he isnt a problem at all. i wished i hadnt got involved at all now, only cos of the attitude of vw dealers. i had a similer issue on a honda accord,it got resolved at the dealers with some new software. this has already paid hundreds hundreds to me to have the dpf cleaned and for the other guy to reset the system. this is the only reason why im still involved. i am seriously thinking of buying vag com to try to reset/initialise this car, even if it costs hundrededs,as long as it fixes the car, then the customer will pay me!!

What are the codes you are getting? Check the wiring where it branches from the loom to the sensor.
