C3 on 2005 plate 1.4 8v
It's a non runner. Cranks but won't start.
Says she's was going down motorway it's lost power she pulled up slip road stopped at lights cut out and hasn't started.
It's got plenty of fuel and it smells like it is petrol.
Got a nice strong spark Has injector control.
Compression dry Is Cyl 1 100 psi Cyl 2 100 psi Cyl 3 85 psi Cyl 4 98 psi
So although low would that cause a non runner? Or bore wash from other cranking it over?
Checked belt and all appears fine.
Won't attempt to run on brake cleaner either.
Do these engines survive if the timing belt had jumped?
Sort of running out of ideas. As I thought these damage valves if timing is out.
Gotta go back later on and do wet compression test.
Any suggestions?
a very very very blocked cat maybe?

Can you feel any pressure out of the tailpipe ?
Cylinder 3 is quite low
Did they all build up pressure around the same time ?

Went back earlier on
Still no start with O2 out plenty of pressure.
Wet test Cyl 1 100psi Cyl 2 100 psi Cyl 3 100 psi (so that's improved) Cyl 4 110 psi
Looks like timing is out by 3/4 teeth
Put a extension down hole set number 1 cyl to TDC And the hole in the cam pulley was 3 teeth away from hole marker in head.
So looks like belt is coming off.
I always thought that these engines did damage if timing jumped?
O well will see what's revealed when it's stripped properly
