2004 1.2 k12,dreaded stretched chain,from what i gather it's easier with engine out,does anyone have any pointers,things to look out for,etc,as some forums saying something about compressed air for locking of cams,ta

The last 2 issues (Sept/Oct) of Car Mechanics mag deals with a chain replacement on one of these, worth a read, looks like a nightmare!

I have done one!
Can be done with engine in car, sump has to come off thou.
Yes there is a procedure to retard "de-phase" on cam with compressed air.
Nissan micras were one of the best cars on the road till the K12 was introduced.

Thanks for all the info,found quite a lot through net research,so confident enough to go ahead,think i'll take engine out though as seems the quicker route though you wouldn't think so.Let you know how it goes.

Out of all the big vans!
I reckon VW LT or Crafters are the best.
Far better than a Sprinter.
