hi iv got a saxo 1.1 1998 an the engne started rattling the other day so i took the rocker cover off and found one of the nuts that you adjust the tappets with has snapped off, is there anyway it can be fixed? thanks

Should be repairable with a little care... Check your local Citroen dealer to see if the threaded adjuster is available as a spare.....if not scrappie merchant..... Keep the lock nut.... You then need to remove the broken bit from the rocker, this may require removing the rocker assembly... you might need to drill out the broken part, or drill into it and use an Easy Out to remove it if you cant unscrew it from the bottom..... Good luck...

I cannot remember but do the headbolts hold down the rocker assembly?

hi, just got the spare from citroen, just need to fit it now, are there any guides on how to do it as it looks like I will have to remove the head bolts to remove rocker assembly. Thanks ste

jus to add its the first one on the left as you look at the engine, so would it be possible to slide along the rocker shaft so i can get at the first screw? Thanks for your help

Thanks for your help On the face of it, it would be the simplest of options... As I recall on BMC engines, the last rocker ( or pair... I forget now and there maybe a spring....) is secured to the shaft with a washer and split pin.. If this arrangement is present on your engine, then all you need do is remove the rocker arm, extract the broken stud, re assemble, and you should be good to go....

Can you not unscrew the adjuster, and screw the new one in,(valve spring not compressed) if not and you have to remove the rocker assembly then you are into a head gasket replacement.
