Well it had to happen, after 4000 trouble free miles, almost exclusively on motorway between Doncaster and Edinburgh, it's showing warning lights. On way up on motorway it showed the light that looks like a car with a lightening bolt through it and lost power. Stop and restart and ran fine but with that light coming on and off when it felt like it. Next day that light is gone but the one that looks like an engine is now on permenantly. The less than helpful handbook says this is the "emmision warning light". So I guess a couple of questions please: 1. Common faults on these - EGR? Wastegate actuator? 2. Anyone reasonably close to either Edinburgh or Doncaster fancy doing a code read for me? Just want someone who knows what they are on about, not a monkey with a scanner. And have I got a dreaded DPF on this?? Thanks

I think its to early to have dpf
Have done lots of turbos and egrs on them
Depending on engine code can be a nightmare to get egr off.
Not sure if it works because on diesel Vectra pedal trick doesn't work
But press brake and accelerator Turn key to position 2
Then count number of light flashes

Thanks - yes tried that but no result, my understanding is the 1.3 diesel is the one Corsa this doesn't work on!

Sounds like you were struck by lightning ...go straight to hospital ! On reflection maybe it's a car with a spanner in it, not a lightening bolt... Either way that one made a one off appearance, the main act is the engine symbol

Well I'm waiting on a code read on this, hopefully this week some time, but weird thing is not only does it drive really well but having done another long trip it is doing around 10% better on fuel than before the light came on, now what is that all about? Does it give any clues on case?

Have you checked the engine oil usage ?

Not in last week since light appeared, prior to that its stayed constant on max mark since last service and filter (4k ago now)
You're thinking it's burning it's oil instead of fuel? No smoke - blue or otherwise - that I can see but will check that tomorrow.

OK now read with OpCom, following were stored: P0108 - Boost pressure high pressure P0106 - Barometric pressure not plausible with boost pressure
Cleared them and P0106 comes straight back. On idle I have the following: Barometric pressure 101 KPA, 3.84 V Boost pressure 138 KPA 2.6V
Can someone offer me some more guidance on where to go now? Not familiar with these small turbo deisels at all. Thanks

Not sure on vauxhalls but the barometric sensor is built into the PCM on fords
It thinks your up Ben Nevis
break down the dtc further and it's likely To say open circuit etc ..,

See if you can move the actuator rod on turbo if its not moving it will over boost

Thanks for the replies, will check actuator rod tomorrow.
Just re-read with engine off and get the same readings as above, baro pressure 101 which I believe is about right for near enough sea level, boost pressure still showing 137, shouldn't it show same as other one with engine off? Duff sensor?
