Going on critch's data [dont know how acurate it is] ''no disrespect critch'' when he loads the engine with a/c its showing 4% throttle angle and 39kpa manifold pressure, both dont exactly match, the throttle body control is lost, it cant find desired idle, its a map engine so will not overfuel like a maf engine just idles high , thats if it is an air leak, No problem at all mate I didn't have my laptop with me so couldn't plug in and take data log of what's going on that probably would of been a lot easier for people to "see" what's going on. My understand was I map engine idles high with a vac leak But I couldn't find anything and fuel trims not changing with higher engine speed threw me as i thought meant to with a vac leak Problem is I've only been out army 18 months so all this is completely new to me but I new more than the other lads in workshop from reading books etc before I got out So I had no one to bounce ideas off in that place and any good data was just what I've managed to pick up along the way from plugging cars in during a service and having a quick glance Would of been a lot better if id managed to find a garage with someone in like some of you guys on here that could of taught me along the way.

Air leak, Engine worn, got thick engine oil in it? We're never going to know now Its good to see other peoples ideas an hopefully one if the lads will tell me what was found to be up with it. I say hopefully as knowing that place if dealer say struggling to diagnose customer just get a new car an that'll go to auction haha Had a insignia last year which I told them had an air leak I just couldn't work out where But it had already been to dealer had a lot of oarts thrown at it and in the end customer got new car and that just went to auction. Joys of having a multi million pound company and not wanting to spend out on equipment or training

Just keep plugging at it, keep networking in the trade , someone will notice , and keep studying !
