Oh dear, the pump accumulator / swirl pot thing has fell apart on the corrado - rubber suspension mounts have rotted away Note the pump is to one side, it just flops about now and the engine starves on 1/4 tank on roundabouts All the fun of using an old car as a daily Age related wear and tear. Found a new tank just checking it's the right one. Used tank has just over half a tank of fuel that needs draining. Wiper linkage fell off a few weeks before..... Pump in tank? 4 connections? 2 large 2 small? 2 large are POS n NEG (2 small are sender unit) that's how VAG are anyway. Use your power pack to drain the tank into cans via engine bay pipes as you work at the rear with the power pack so no sparks Nice and easy

Going to have a look at a couple of rear ABS sensors off a 1990 Mark III Granny at a local Scrappers. Been told they will fit my Cossie. Best get my haggling hat on then.

Have you done anymore with this Pete? Yes Stu. Changed both rear ABS sensors for second hand ones off a MARK 111 Granny but the faults still there. Intermittent still but less than before if that makes sense. Start the car from cold the ABS goes out after 20-30 seconds as normal. Drive the car 50-100 yards or a bit longer light comes on then sometimes it goes off and on etc other times it stays on when driving. If you pull over and turn the engine off and wait a few seconds fire her up again light goes off almost straightaway then start to drive her back to above scenario(s). Rear new sensors are not available anymore for these now obsolete so Digger's neighbour has suggested a Cossie Specialist near them. I'll have to ring them and have a chat as it's a 35 mile journey one way if he wants me to leave it for diagnosis etc and arrange transport home.

Rusty n/s rear wheel arch got a bit scabby. I'll take a photo and post it up tomorrow if I remember. That's the only paint issue and it's on my to do list next Spring/Summer with my paint man. My Classic car Policy is due in a month or so and I'm going to ask to increase the guaranteed value this time. Ideally I would like the whole car repainted but I can't justify the cost.

http://www. .co.uk/index.php This is the place Adam recommended for Cossie work, scanning the ABS maybe? Cheers Digger I'll give them a ring when time allows and arrange something with them. Spender Cossie still in it's box on my cupboard. Never seen the other two in Corgi form.

I dropped my Cossie off last Saturday morning for Mike to have a look at the ABS intermittent fault. He was sure he could fix it and I asked him to give the car the once over as the MOT is due at the end of next week and report back which he was happy to do as he works on these every day so he knows his stuff and seems a genuine bloke. He rang me to say the ABS is fixed and report a few small pre-MOT problems but nothing major. Wear and tear. I was going to pop over and see him this morning and see him as he wanted to show me with it on the ramp but there was a crash on the Motorway near me and the roads were gridlocked so I rang him and arranged to go and see him on Saturday morning instead. I have no reason whatsoever to question what he is telling me but he insisted on showing me the vehicle before commencing any work on my Cossie. I'll update after I go and see him on Saturday morning the 7th November. Digger get the kettle on I might well pop round for a coffee and a natter if your in.
