Flipping rev counter sometimes bounces around other times it's fine . About time I got round to giving it a good service and change the cambelt as well for peace of mind. I've already priced the parts up so if the weather's nice this next couple of weeks I'll have to get my wallet out and get it done. One thing I'm not 100% with is the oil grade. Manual says 5W/50 fully synthetic for these and 3.4 litres with a filter change. Anybody recon that oils to thin and 10W/40 would be better or stick with the first one.

Oops oil capacity is 4.2 litres with a filter change wrong engine before.

Like any cambelt they can go over time and IMO eight years is pushing it even with the low mileage since I would prefer to spend a few hundred pounds now than a few grand possibly in the future. Am I getting paranoid in my old age. Speak up I can't hear you.

Go for it I'd say....should be easy enough.... Seriously, you don't need convincing not to change it ?

I take it the sensor hasn't sorted it then? I would look at getting a timed relay to make the light go on and off when ignition is switched on.

It was a risk buying a second hand sensor but there you go. Been offered two more since but off a 2WD Cossie and I've been told they fit 4WD Cossies Sierras. Escort Cossies different fitting. Might be worth another try and see. If that doesn't cure it I'm not playing parts roulette I may contact a Cossie specialist place. ABS light goes off when vehicle started (pre-checks the system) once rolling it comes on and goes off at will but at low speeds you can feel the ABS kicking in.

have you had a good luck at all the reluctor rings? Sounds like what clio's and rovers do when the rings crack.
