What was the new short engine in aid of? It must have been a pretty severe failure of the original!

It's the 1 litre ecoboost
If it loses its coolant it appears the drivers carry on until they stop
These early ones only have a CTS and not a cylinder head temp sensor

First day went well...Didn't get called a f*cking clown Nice one! Sounds like a better day than I had..... Looks like I'm back into retirement as all the work we had is no more...although we have tendered for other jobs, clients aren't spending money...... So, the new car will have to wait...the Passat just better keep going or I'll do a John Cleese on it....lol On the brighter side, I get to spend more time in my workshop, doing 'my stuff'......

Trying to reset one of my rear windows on the Mondeo ST220 for global closing. They all open ok but one of the rears won't go up. Tried resetting it but might not be doing it properly to regain it's memory.

Tried resetting it but might not be doing it properly to regain it's memory. The windows on my dads original A class would only move a short distance up or down after a battery change until it renewed its upper and lower limits then it would become one touch again, is that what you're trying to do?

It must have lost it's memory for that window when I replaced the battery last year. Turn the key till lights on dash then close the window(s) fully up then release the button then press and hold down the up button for 5 seconds repeat for all other windows if needed. Operator error I wasn't holding the up button for long enough. Once touch is ok I think.

Press and hold the remote lock/unlock To perform global opening/closing They all went down ok just one of the rear ones wouldn't global close at first until I did the reset properly. Is that because it didn't know where it's stopping point was? All fine now and one touch open and close.

Busy day today, did some more to the BMW touring..Then fixed a seized handbrake on a Porsche Cayenne...Then checked out and roadtested a BMW M3 ragtop..Then checked out a VW FSI for a water leak, needs a thermostat housing.. Then off to Eastbourne to sort out a digger overheating, had an airlock. Then a breakdown on a Nissan Nivara in Bexhill, ended up towing it back, poss crank sensor.

Finished off delivering the Chinese tyres with 2 days going round every one of their branches in Devon and Cornwall. We've gone quiet again today, so I've been sat at home waiting for the phone to ring.
Had another session cutting firewood. Got my old tables running by swapping the lister d for a brand new 6.5hp Villiers. Probably cut around a ton of wood today, and have barely put a dent in the pile! Got to stack it all up again now. Beats paying a gas bill!
